Privacy Policy

Here's the short version: we only ask for what we need, we don't sell your data to anyone, and you can leave our email list in one click. The detail below explains exactly what we collect, why, and who helps us run things.

1. What we collect

We collect two kinds of information:

• What you give us. When you request the Free Starter Pack, download a feeding plan, buy a guide, or otherwise fill in a form, you give us your name and email address. If you buy something, our payment processor collects your payment details, we never see or store your full card number.
• What's collected automatically. Like most websites, we log basic technical data when you visit, such as which pages you view, the type of device and browser you use, and a general (not precise) location. We use this to understand what's working and fix what isn't.

2. How we use it

We use your information to:

• Deliver the freebie, plan, or product you asked for.
• Send you the emails you signed up for, welcome notes, recipes, tips, and the occasional offer. You can stop these anytime.
• Send order and download emails when you buy something (these are service emails, not marketing).
• Understand which content and products people find useful, so we make more of the good stuff.
• Keep the site secure and working, and meet our legal and tax obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't rent your email address to other companies.

3. Analytics & cookies

To see how the site is doing, we use two analytics tools:

• Umami — a privacy-focused analytics tool that measures traffic without using cookies or collecting personally identifying information.
• Google Analytics 4 — Google's analytics service, which does use cookies to measure visits and understand how people move through the site. Google processes this data on our behalf; you can read more in Google's Privacy Policy.

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. You can block or delete them anytime in your browser settings, the site will still work. Some of our email links also include a tracking tag so we can see which messages are useful; you can ignore this by not clicking, and it never identifies you to third parties.

4. Who we share it with

We're a small brand and we rely on a few trusted service providers to operate. They only get the data they need to do their job, and they're bound to protect it:

• Resend — sends our emails.
• Stripe — processes payments securely; card details go to Stripe, not to us.
• Railway — hosts the website and our database.
• Umami & Google Analytics — measure site traffic (see above).

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or property. If our business is ever transferred, your information could move with it, but this policy would still apply.

• Unsubscribe anytime. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you're removed, no login needed.
• Access or delete your data. Email us and we'll tell you what we hold about you, or delete it, subject to any records we're legally required to keep (like purchase records).
• Control cookies. Manage or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time.

7. How we protect it

The site runs over a secure (HTTPS) connection, download and account links we email you are signed and time-limited so they can't be guessed or reused, and payment data is handled by Stripe, not stored by us. No system online is ever perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.

8. Children's privacy

Hearth & Hound is meant for adults, pet owners and their families. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we'll do our best to let you know by email.
